Man found dead with a bullet wound to the head

A man was murdered in Joe Slovo informal settlement.

His body was found lying on the ground with a bullet wound to his head, on November 4.

A projectile and cartridge were found on the scene and the body was taken to the Germiston state mortuary.

Police are investigating a murder case and are appealing to members of the community to come forward with any information that can help detectives solve the case.

Witnesses to the killing can anonymously share information with the investigating officer, Det WO Ben Olifant, by calling him on 011 910 5000/5017.

The area has seen a spike in violent crime of late. Eight people have been killed during the period of October 1 to November 6.
