Suspect arrested for possession of a hijacked motor vehicle

Officers of the Germiston flying squad arrested a suspect for possession of hijacked motor vehicle on Wednesday, August 1pm.

According to Constable Ntombikayise Ngcobo from the Germiston Flying Squad, officers spotted a green Mini Cooper with a foreign registration which had one occupant inside.

“Suspicion arose when the driver of the Cooper failed to stop at the traffic light,” said Ngcobo.

“The officers followed him and managed to stop him in Edgar Road. They then made inquiries and discovered the car was hijacked in Yeoville during the early hours of the morning on Wednesday.”
