Many little ones will be warm this winter thanks to the Wool Centre Boksburg.

The Wool Centre Boksburg made a generous donation on May 10 towards the Tambo Babies initiative.

The centre makes annual charitable donations to the Boksburg community.

“There are so many abandoned and needy babies in our community,” said Elizabeth Evans, owner of Wool Centre Boksburg.

“Customers donated handmade items like blankets, booties, baby jerseys, clothing and baby products that will be distributed among the less fortunate,” said Evans.

Evans said the charity drive will continue throughout the year.

“Wool Centre wants to thank all the customers that made donations. Without them this donation would not be possible,” said Evans.

Tina Moolman is part of the Tambo Babies initiative that launch by Barbara Morrison in 2013.

They have two groups that make up and deliver on alternate weeks in Boksburg and Benoni.

“Barbara heard the plight of newborn babies being discharged from hospitals wrapped in newspaper and bin bags and so she decided to help,” said Moolman.

“We deliver, on average, 60 hampers every second week and are only able to this through the generous donations of the community,” said Moolman.

The Wool Centre Boksburg plans to make another donation towards the end of the year.
