CPF’S family fun day in Jansen Park aims to unite community

The event on September 9 saw scores of residents and their children gathering in Jansen Park where they were treated to special performances by musicians.

The Boksburg North SAPS and Trinity Protection Services who were also in attendance presented a talk and short demonstrations on hijacking and negligent handling of a firearm.

Trinity Protection Services officers gave a short demonstrations on hijacking.

Estelle Smith from Underdogs SA gave valuable information on how to take care of dogs and how to train them to behave accordingly.

Children participated in a number of fun games during the event.

Attendees also included Ward 22 Clr Ruhan Robinson, representatives from all the other CPF sectors, IER Security Company, Pink Ladies, Underdogs SA, X Factor Signs, Sanitech, De Klerk’s Estate Agents and other local businesses.

One of the event organisers, Jansen Park CPF’s Leticia Festraets, described the event as a success. She said it was a great opportunity for residents to get together to form new bonds and friendships and claim the park back from people who use it for criminal activities.

Festraets also thanked the main sponsors, which included local businesses who made the fun day possible.

During the event, ward committee member Chantel Gilpin challenged community members to add their voices to the outcry against woman and child abuse in the country by signing a pledge in this regard.
