Rapist sentenced to 32 years

On July 2, 2012 the suspect committed housebreaking and theft in Dawn Park. He was arrested and taken to court, where he was released on lack of evidence.

The investigating officer, Detective Constable Nonhlanhla Zulu, however, conducted further investigation on the docket.

In the meantime, while the detective was investigating a case of rape committed on May 30, 2015, she was able to link the suspect to the earlier case of housebreaking and theft through DNA results.
